Christmas Countdown

I posted a while back about our Christmas Countdown. (If you are a Friends fan that post might make you smile.) I am so very happy to say that I kept up with it ALL month long!!! The kids LOVED it! And Randy enjoyed it too! :) Even after Christmas they were asking about the "envelopes" or "enbelopes" as Chloe would say.

They opened one of the envelopes each day. In it was a paper telling them what fun Christmas activity they were going to do. (Read on to see how we filled in the empty spots on the ribbons as the days went on.) Some days were more exciting than others. Here is a list of some of the things we did . . .

Grandma took us on a very chilly golf cart ride. I think we were numb when we came back! The kids passed out candy canes to the neighbors we saw walking. Yes, sometimes we wear jackets in Florida, not coats but, jackets. :)

We went to see Christmas lights

We went to Seaworld's Christmas Celebration. The kids got to go in the snowglobe to get their picture taken. It was probably in the upper 70's but, I made the kids wear jackets in the snowglobe to make the picture look right. Who wears shorts and a tshirt in a snowglobe?? Oh wait . . . Randy does. :)

If you look closely you can see Christmas lights on the kids bikes. They surprised my parents with that. Of course my parents made them think they were super cool with all the oohs and aahs they gave them.

A few of our other activities . . . we made gingerbread houses with the cousins, went to some Christmas programs, got a Christmas movie, decorated the tree in their room . . . some of it was very simple but, very fun! Since this is a very busy time of year for a mail lady I planned the easier things on nights I knew I would work late. For example the movie night was after a super long day of delivering packages to everyone and their brother on my route.
This was so much fun! I can't wait to do this again next year!!!

Here is the Countdown "after." I love all of those cards and the sweet faces I see on them!  I can not figure out how in the world to download our card to show you it, so I will show you 2 of my most favorite photos on the card . . .

My Dad let us use his model A for the pics. As soon as I saw that truck I knew I just had to use it for a little picture fun. Thanks, Dad!!!
